Ministry: Russia’s trade surplus falls 47.6% to $8.5 bln in August
MOSCOW, Sep 29 (PRIME) -- Russia’s foreign trade surplus fell 47.6% on the year to U.S. $8.5 billion in August, the Economic Development Ministry said in a report on Tuesday.
Exports stood at $25 billion in August, down 39.7% on the year and 9.4% on the month, while imports amounted to $16.5 billion, down 34.7% on the year and 2.7% on the month.
In January–August, exports decreased 31.4% on the year and imports fell 38.6%, while trade surplus fell 20.4% to $107.7 billion. Foreign trade turnover fell 34.1% on the year in the period.
